As I subscribed to Other Stories I was able to be amongst the first to view its entire collection online today which I was super excited about. As I am doing a branding project as part of my next stage in my degree, I have been following the progress of H&M's new 'older sister' brand that is based on the concept of narratives. I was enthusiastic about the brand before I saw its offering in full motion but after scrolling through all of their wonderful stock I am even more enthralled. They seem to be a brand that really gets the modern day consumer, offering an entire brand package that extends into documenting the production of their clothing and packaging. Their conceptual and often abstract videos that encapsulate each product story bring the brand to life in a way that makes them feel like artists as well as designers. Despite the middle-ground price-point this is a brand that seems to exude quality and luxury, from their creatively curated collections right through to their hand-printed shopping bags. I've been longing for this sort of brand, one that marries the sophistication of Reiss or Acne with the accessibility of the high-street. Can't wait for the flagship opening of this brand this month in London. My friends and I am planning a trip there shortly and will certainly be checking out this store and hopefully bringing back a momentum. If money was no object my selected collection would be everything in the moodboards above - my highlights are the white shirt dress, mint iphone cover, mint green leather shoulder bag, rose gold jewellery, peach flat ballerinas and coral make-up.
