mes vacances françaises

All own photographs

I have returned from my France getaway and despite the weather not always being on our side, it was a lovely break. I went with my boyfriend and another couple to Brittany, Dinan and stayed in a beautiful house tucked away in a sleepy village. During our week stay we went to Saint Mont Michel, an unusual, unique island with impressive architecture. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit it with it's cobbled, winding streets, quaint shops and wonderful cathedral. We also went to two beaches, Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer and Saint-Cast-Le-Guildo. One was really windy and pebbly but great for crab hunting - if that is your thing. The second was sandy and a lot more generic to what is expected of a beach. Both were great for a lazy sunbathe and game of bat and ball. We also went to Saint Malo for some shopping and food, we found a really beautiful area of shops near the castle where we enjoyed authentic crepes with home-made chocolate spread. On one rainy day we went to the indoor aquarium which was great fun too, even experience a submarine simulation. I had such a nice break relaxing with friends, drinking wine, eating cheese (probably too much cheese), snuggling up next to the fire at night watching films and days out in the sun (some of the time). Wish it didn't have to end so soon!

Books I read: The Interpretation Murder by Jed Rubenfeld and French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure by Mireille Guiliano. I would really recommend both for a brilliant read.
