Going Monochrome

I'm kind of going through a phase with Dorothy Perkins at the moment after picking up a couple of great pieces from their new collection including this gorgeous Black and White Pencil Dress. They now have up to 30% off everything online and in-store until 30/03/2014. I'm going all gooey over jeans, dresses and skirts. With the Grand National coming up I am on the hunt for the perfect, sophisticated dress and have spotted a few items which could be in the running. Get it?

Believe it or not but these black, patent court shoes are from Dorothy Perkins originally and should have been around £30. However, I picked these up at St.Luke's Hospice for the absolute bargain price of £4! Yes four sterling pounds. I love the practical heal and on trend pointed edge. They also have a curved inner edge that reveals a bit more skin making them that much more interesting. Normally, I would have paired this look with bronzed pins but am awaiting a rather large tanning order for review. For now I am having to go au natural. But how nice is this simple monochrome shift dress from DP? I love the side pockets giving a casual touch to such an elegant garment. The colour blocking and shape gives the body structure whilst still looking super feminine. There is an exposed zip down the back of the dress which adds a modern and youthful twist too. I am officially hooked. Also, my hair looks so red in photographs lately. Thankfully, I'm colouring my tresses this week so bon voyage orange tinge hello dark, caramel brown!
