Put your hand up if you have let your whole skincare regime crumble a little over the last month. Okay a lot. Well as we cannot see each other let me inform you that my hand is up. My once extensive and rather indulgent skincare regime has dwindled down to nothing but a couple of face wipes and a splodge of moisturiser. Better than nothing I know but I could see my skin looking dull and feeling in need of a deep clean. So, I rifled through my collection of facial goodies and found a couple of favourites left at the bottom of the pile. In need of a rota change on my usual go-to skincare (back when I did go-to) I pulled them out and got to work.
Lancome Gel Éclat Clarifying Cleanser - Begin by firstly wiping off the majority of make-up using either a wipe or make-up remover, then wash your hands so they are clean too. Then splash the face with warm water. Why warm? Because it opens the pores making cleaning out impurities easier. Too hot and it can shock the skin and even burst capillaries and too cold keeps the pores closed. After that put the tiniest amount of cleanser onto my fingertips, a little goes a long way with this product. Then add a splash of warm water to the product and begin to massage it into the fingers to work the product. This fresh smelling delicate cleanser creates the most beautiful and luxurious pearly foam. You apply it to your face in circular motions to draw out toxins and impurities deep within the pores of the skin, leaving the completion feeling like soft and supple. You can use a muslin cloth instead of your fingertips for a light exfloiating effect too. Once happy with the coverage and depth of clean (make sure your got into your hairline and neck) wash away all product residue using warm water because we still want those pores open for the next step.
Nivea Daily Essentails Refreshing Toner - After the skin has been patted dry pour a small amount of this watery toner on to a cotton pad. Then dab and swipe the pad across the face. The direction of movements should be from the centre of the face to the edges so for instance the nose to the jaw. Going in the opposite direction is essentially going against the grain of the skin. Also be gentle. When you tone and moisturise make sure to do so with a light hand. This is a lovely light toner with vitamins and natural lotus extract. Toning is the process of removing dead skin cells from your face, as well as removing any dirt, make-up or cleanser that may remain after cleansing. Toning will help keep your skin clear and firm by leave you with a layer of new healthy skin cells. After this step feel free to splash face with cold water to close pores. Make sure it isn't freezing cold or that can shock skin into tightening up too quickly. Finally make sure to finish with a moisturiser.
These products are great for daily use as they are kind to the skin and their delicate ingredients make them perfect for anyone with sensitive skin. Just remember these product are for Normal to Combination skin types so might not necessarily work best for those with a dry or oily complexion. Make sure to get skincare products that tackle your personal skin problems. If you are unsure what your skin type is head down to a dermatologist at any skincare specialist beauty counter like Clinque. They can analyse your skin, ask you questions and give you your answer and without the pressure to buy. But for anyone else who shares my skin type these are great products for a daily, refreshing and pleasurable face cleaning experience.
Great product review! They look great! Might try them out! :) xx

The products sound great! I have an oily complexion and have had a consultation with Clinique and the skin care range I have been given hasn't made a big difference... my search carries on! :( xx

Oh no Hannah :( I love Clinque but have heard some people not getting along with their products. I think it is hit and miss sometimes and finding what is right for your personal needs. I have heard Lush and The Body Shop have some good things for oily skin though if you have yet to try them? Hope this helps x
DeleteThese both sound like really great products. I've never tried Lancome before but it sounds like a really good quality brand xx

It is a lovely choice!
DeleteAgreed!! Lately all I've been doing is washing my face and going to sleep without toning or moisturizing(sooo bad! I know)
ReplyDeleteI have a mixed feeling with the Nivea toners!
I actually have the Aqua Effect for oily to combination skin and I have no idea if its working for me.
I only purchase it because its for oily to combination and that it's also cheap!
This is probably the only Nivea products that I'm not too certain about!
However the Daily Essentials sounds like its worth a try!
Thanks for the tips Hollie =)
