Above is a video to achieve natural, everyday volumised hair using the humble velcro roller. Sometimes you don't have time to wash your hair or you simply want to add a less damaging curl or wave to the hair without the use of tongs. Using Velcro Rollers on dry hair is great for adding a natural lift to the roots and create texture and thickness to the hair overall. It is a really cheap way of giving your hair some added bounce and curl so, well worth your time and effort. If you want to create more volume and curl then do this on towel dried hair which has had mousse applied throughout or what I recommend Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray.
I chose an awkward time to do the video so the lighting goes a little dark after I unravel the rollers and I don't feel you can see the look to its full effect so, the photographs above are me having done velcro rollers the exact same way on a different day! So, you can clearly see the sort of end result you can get through this look - whether you use it on dry or wet hair. Also, I left them in much longer and I think you can tell that you get far more volume by doing so.
I used to have a 'how to tint and shape eyebrows' tutorial and 'my best and worst hair products' videos on my youtube channel but I just thought the lightening and quality of the videos wasn't good enough so, have wiped my slate clean and began afresh. Hopefully, you guys like the video and if you do then I'll hop to making more (I really want to do my eyebrow tutorial again)!
My Velcro Rollers are monochrome and come in three sizes, large, medium and small.
I bought them from Boots! Also, have clamps but prefer using grips to secure.
Prior to tutorial:
Shampoo and Conditioner: Wella Colour Brilliance For Fine/Normal Hair
Mousse: Wella Extra Volume
Perfecting Spray: Wella Perfecting Spray
To Secure Style:
Hairspray: Wella SilviKrin Classic in Firm Hold.
You are so gorgeous! This tutorial is great for me, I wash my hair at night and never knew how to get volume back in it in the morning when it's dry and after sleeping on it
